A charity project aimed to help Chernihiv Maternity Hospital In the autumn of 2022, representatives of Andersen Charity delivered a special device for nursing premature babies and consumables at a total cost of €5,010 to Chernihiv Maternity Hospital. The device is a table with built-in phototherapy lamps. According to Victoria Bazarnaya, head of the neonatal department, a mother gets access to such a table right after her baby has been transferred from the intensive care unit. Thus, she can constantly contact her child in a ward. Employees teach women how to keep newborns under an additional source of warmth. This is how the thermal procedure and the phototherapy procedure for premature babies are carried out. Such support is important for the maternity hospital. This healthcare facility receives people not only from Chernihiv but also from the whole region. Every year, about 5,000 babies are born in this medical institution. In 2022, 1065 children have come into the world here. Galina Lenik, acting head of the maternity hospital, says, “Only 27 babies were born in April. In the summer, there was an increase: in July and August, 130 and 140 babies were born.” The hospital staff expressed their gratitude to Andersen IT company for their help.
Andersen Charity: helping Ukrainians during wartime
Andersen Charity was founded in the winter of 2022 by Oleksandr Orlov, CTO of the European IT company Andersen. Since some of the company’s offices are located in Ukraine, thousands of employees found themselves in distress. The management wanted to provide financial assistance not only to Andersen’s specialists but also to other Ukrainians. Thus, a charity foundation appeared. Since then, Andersen Charity has been raising funds to supply Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical supplies, devices, and medicines. The foundation has already raised €94,170 and implemented nine charitable projects for Cherkasy Regional Oncological Dispensary, Cherkasy City Maternity Hospital, Cherkasy Children’s Hospital, the Clinical Medical Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Lviv, and other Ukrainian healthcare institutions. By providing assistance to Ukrainian clinics and maternity hospitals, Andersen Charity aims to achieve four goals:
to improve the well-being of Ukraine; improve medical services, despite military actions and restrictions; provide assistance to people affected during the war; to make medical care available to millions of Ukrainians.
These goals define the mission of Andersen Charity – to improve the quality of life and protect the right of Ukrainians to medical care in wartime.
