In the gaming world, there are many types of gamers. Some are expert and highly passionate for gaming and some play games just for the enjoyment. So, everyone builds their PC according to their need and most often according to their budget. To power up the PC, all the PC’s user needs an important component for their computer, which is a PSU; PSU comes in all the power demands like 300W, 400W, 500W, 750W, 900W, 1200Wand also many others are there too. Their power rating and specifications are different from each other, but they all serves the same job and it’s just only to power up your PC. In this article I’m going to talk about the best in class 500W PSUs available in the market in this current month and in case, if you having any confusion related to the power wattage or maybe you need any other type of tips and help related to buying PSU, then you can feel free to check out my this suggest article where I talked about » How To Buy Perfect Power Supply Unit (PSU) For Desktop Computer? Choosing a 500 Watt PSU is a very good option when you have or planning to build a “Medium-End” PC for yourself because it’s actually sufficient enough to power up your whole PC even without having any difficulty. There is a majority of peoples who are also using a 500W power supply for their Mid-End PCs but most of the time people get confused while buying a new one, they didn’t easily decide that they need 400 Watt or 500 Watt for their PC. So, Which PSU You Should Buy? The answer is simple, 500W PSU can able to run all the mid-end graphics cards while were 400 Watts PSU hardly manages to do that. Actually 400W is just for normal PCs which people only use to do some normal work, like internet surfing etc. but 500W can do anything what you’ve think of, you can plug any mid-range video card in your computer even the one who comes in the future and not just that, in case If you will plan to upgrade your PC in the future to add some coupe or more extra devices like an extra storage device with some other type of PCIe card, then again, 500 Watt PSU will not cause you any kind of problem at all, where the 400 Watt may create some trouble and stops you from doing that. So, why not have a 500W PSU! It is just great for you, even if you wanted to add some extra components, then just plug it and the 500 Watt PSU will handle all of that without having any difficulty. The another great reason why I always suggest the 500W PSU over the 400, because it will unobjectionably provide the good power supply to your PC by supplying the sufficient electricity to all the needy components, which also helps your computer to don’t let you down by the common PSU’s problems, like unexpected shutdowns or even the BSODs (Blue Screen Of Death) Errors. #Let Me Share You My Recent Experiment; A lot of people asking me about, does their PSU can able to run GTX 980 or GTX 1050 etc. and that’s the reason why I decided to buy all the latest GPU’s available in the market and test everyone, one by one until I’ve made the GPU compatibility with 500W PSU data report. So, I have successfully tested the beloved NVidia’s GTX 9th, 10th and TITAN Series Graphics cards and the results were fascinating. All the mid-range graphics cards work perfectly except all the high-performance once. Test Results Of Those Graphics Card Which I Personally Tested:
Card Who Works Perfectly On 500W PSU: GTX 950, GTX 960, GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 1050, GTX 1050 TI, GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 Card Who Don’t Work On 500W PSU: GTX 980 TI, GTX 1080, GTX Titan X, and GTX Titan Pascal
A Special Mention: 500W PSU is only up to Mid-End PCs who having only Mid-End Graphics Card in it. It will not work when it’s connected to some High-End Graphics Card and it’s 99% possible that you may face some kind of trouble after the installation. High-End Graphic Cards requires more power, where the 500W PSU may not able to deliver that much power. So, if you are having a mid-end PC, then just go for it;
So, Let’s See How Many Best 500 W PSUs Are Available In The Market;
So alone a PSU is capable of destroying your whole rig in a second! So, my friend, when it comes to buying a Power Supplies, never be stingy and spend a good amount on a solid one and I only advise you to buy the right PSU for your PC. There are many key factors which you should really need to consider before buying the PSU like Wattage, 80 PLUS certification, Modularity, Peak or Continues power. One of the most attractive features is the sleek black cables. This power supply unit is 80 plus bronze certified and has long-term durability because of the presence of high-quality Japanese Capacitors and has the turbofan control feature and not just that it also ensures a solid power delivery too. It regulates the voltage ensuring quality DC output perfectly and DC regulation also happens perfectly because of the low noise produced due to the 135mm fan. The heavy configuration of the system provides stability to it and also ensures compatibility because of the presence of +12V rail. There are safety certificates ensured to the system with CE, FCC, TUV and cTUVus. Maximum safety is ensured because of OVP, UVP, SCP and OPP. The system has its own compliance with EU and ERP direction.
The diameter of the fan is just 135 mm which ensures low-level noise and maintains the stable conditions of the machine thermally. It has the Crossfire ability but the only drawback it has is that it is non-modular. It is Haswell Ready and offers the complete power of 500 Watt.
Top 2nd PSU – Rosewill Glacier 500M

Top 1st PSU – ENERMAX EPF500AWT
Input Voltage: 100 – 240 Volt AC Maximum Power Output: 500W Fan Size: 2 x 139mm fan with patented Twister Bearing Technology Energy Efficient: 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified MTBF: >100,000 Hours Dimension: 3.39″ x 5.91″ x 6.30″ Type: Full-Modular Connectors: 1 x 20+4-pin MB, 1 x 4+4-pin CPU, 4 x 6+2-pin PCI-E, 8 x SATA, 6 x Molex, 1 x FDD
Short Review: Antec This is one fully functional, modular Power Supplying Unit that is highly efficient and has individually sleeved cables and hence operates quite well. This one comes with the Dust Free Rotation feature. The DFR feature by Enermax ensures removal of dust by reverse spinning in full speed while the power supply unit starts up. As for the cables, they are individual sleeved cables and have nice braiding. It is platinum certified. The fan has a longer life compared to all the other fans. The fan is second generation Twister bearing fan and has a long life of about 1,60,000 hours. The average life of the other fans are 30,000 hours while that of other better brands which are international and famous have 50,000 to 60,000 hours. One of the features that attracts everyone is the detachable feature of the fans. The fans can be detached from the system and cleaned to ensure dust doesn’t pile up and make it hard for the power supply to last any longer. It can provide power up to 50 degree Celsius and it needs to be maintained very carefully because for an increase of 10 degree Celsius the lifetime of the machine is reduced up to 50%. The diameter of the cooling fan is very absurd of being 139mm where it should have been 140mm. The dimensions of the machine are normal according to the supply. There is no semi-passive mode. Cable wires are sufficient and 5VSB rails, EPS and PCIe are present. The distance between the connectors is enough and there is a presence of ISATA and four Molex connectors. Apart from all the good features, the only problem is that for a power supply unit of 500 Watt, the amount offered is very high.
Happy Shopping!!!
